B20/LS motor questions
Ok I was on http://www.crvtec.com and here are a couple specs on the B20 motor.
97-98 126hp @ 5400 rpm
133 ft-lbs (18.4 Kg-M) @ 4300
8.8:1 CR
99-00 146hp @ 6200 rpm
133 ft-lbs (18.4 Kg-M) @ 4500
9.6:1 CR
I was expecting torque numbers on the 2.0 to be high(2.0 vs 1.8) but only by like 5lbs? If I were to swap a non VTEC motor, would it be worth it to save the extra motor for a B20 block? Please dont tell me "Slap a B16 head on there etc etc".
Thanks.

Sorry guys lol.
The question is, Is it worth it to save for a 2.0 block, or should I just keep the 1.8 block. This is more than likely an all motor setup, nothing too wild.

Both those numbers are for the b20b, and b20z.
The b18a, b18b has 140hp and 127tq, not the most impressive but does the job for me. If your every rollin in G-town im in the 6g hatch with LS rims

Do you know Stephen Cereclajdkljfles?

Thats max torque and also it makes that torque sooner then the LS. If you look at a b18 + b20 dyno graph comparison you will notice the b20 makes more low end torque. Basically the torque curve is moved up

those are stock honda numbers too. slap on a ls im or skunk2 im and a good header and feed it a little more fuel and you will make 150-155hp and 140-145 tq. at least from what ive read and seen.
hehehehehe....can't wait to swap my b20 in like SUPERCIVIC....
out with old, in with the new. now i'm trying to decide whether to ditch the 90 LS intake manifold and get a skunk2 or not.
From what I know, B20's aren't as cheap as an LS block... which you already have...
I say save the money and drop it on something else... It's only like 4 ft lbs of tq and a less than attractive R/S ratio.
I hope you don't want to do an LS or CRVT on stock compression pistons, do you ?

I also hear that the B20 sleeves are weak, like for boost or high revving. Can anyone enlighten me on this?
any truth in this?

not sure where you are getting them from.
maybe if you searched for some info to check out these wild fantasies before posting there would be ALOT less misinformation being created in this thread...
B20 has SOLID cylinders as opposed to sleaved...
making them STRONGER.
