I want to know if the base model and the type S share the same exhaust system. The local shop only has listings for the S model and not the base. Thanks.

 

dunno about rsx but in japan the iS has a smaller diameter piping throughout the whole car compare to the Type R. just look underneath the car u'll see.

 

the type-s has slighty larger diameter piping...not just the tip that's different from what I hear due to the higher compression...

 

so can i buy an used exhaust system for my base model and which the exhaust came out from a Type S

 

if you're talking stock for stock, no they are not the same exhaust system. the type s is beefier stock.

if you are asking if you can buy an aftermarket exhaust for a type s and put it on a base, it VARIES. some systems need minor modifications, some systems are made for both type s and base, it all depends.

i got skunk2 for type s and i had to take it to a local muffler shop and have them do some minor modifications.. well kinda minor.

 

How about the Buddy Club SpecIII... I would like to buy it if it fits the base model.. anybody ,..

I spoke with greddy about putting the greddy evo for type s on the on the base and they said it will not fit. I forgot why but I think it had to do with a length issue.
