Post 1988 CRX or 1991 Civic HB?

Alright so I'm about to embark on the epic journey of the b series swap.

This will be my first swap. The thing is I'm not sure which Honda i wanna use.

Right now i have a daily driver the 88 Rex which i just bought from a guy for 900
She has a fender pushed in with little rust and the driver side quarter panel gas tank has been wrecked(all from previous owner) also the window regulator needs to be replaced

Then i have sitting at my dad's house my first car the 91 civic hatch
the front windshield is completely shattered the engine is blown and the hood has massive damage.

i just wanna know from all you experienced Honda heads out there what you prefer and any advice you guys might have is more than welcome.

i'll most likely start a thread about the build.

The CRX runs.

I'd slap it in the hatchback. A crisp EF9 lookalike is always a looker. Convert that bish

there is a reason why "everyone and their mother" has or had a crx...

thanks guys sounds look like it's gonna turn into a crx v.s. civic thread.
are there any big differences between the two besides weight?

Are you going for any kind of practicality? If its all out speed, I'd just go with the CRX build.

crx if its a sunday cruiser, hatch if its gonna be a daily. more room in the hatch for storage and whatnot. i miss my hatch cause i used the back seat as an easy access trunk for my books and groceries and whatnot, in my crx everything is on the passenger seat and the passenger floor and it all annoyingly cluttered adn ****. but really just swap the hatch since its not running, swapping ur daily always leads to time managment problems when something goes wrong.

It took me about a year to find a "decent" CRX but I seen hatches everywhere. Having said that I wouldnt spend the money on a swap to put it in a rusted out POS so I would probably go with the Civic.

speed is always a factor,,i want some pretty tight response on the corner's, i pretty much plan on stripping out what i dont need and bolting up everything i do

This is the way I went about it. I did the suspension/wheels/brakes first. Then the swap ,then the paint. I am a firm believer in a chasis being set-up to "handle" a more powerful engine. How badly damaged is the CRX?

you know you own an ef when you compare it(all ****ed up) to a newer car and consider choosing the ef over the new car..

ZING!

but seriously, id choose the ef and use the crx as a daily

they are both good but think about which one is easier to get parts? for sure both of em have advantages. I suggest to you to call some friends who have hatch and crx for drive test and from there you can choose...

i have hatch and i'm planning to get a crx as well!

I would say pick up a second motor and just do a swap in both of them. Might as well. I've noticed when it comes to owning both a crx and a hatch, it's hard to give them both the attention they need. Personally, I like the hatchbacks better. They're awesome road trip cars.

driver side fender is rusting out and pushed in ( i had to pull it out so the door would catch it when opened)

also the previous owner i guess tried to flare out the front fenders and did the worse job i have ever seen basically he just added more damage

then where the gas door is im guessing it got side swiped and completely pushed in but no damage on the door

windshield isnt no biggy but its cracked all the way across

tail light center piece is cracked

and the rear bushings are shot on the passenger side

i dont know what he did to the muffler but its dangling and dented from speed bumps and rocks i guess he riced the flip out of this rex

its gonna need liposuction, plastic surgery bone reconstruction

should i sell it and get me an si shell?

4. "What should I sell my CRX/Civic for?" or "How much is my CRX/Civic worth?" or "Is this a good deal/price?" "What would these parts be worth?"
5. "Which one is better EF or X car" or "EF; X car". Should I trade/sell/buy Car X for Car Y. "Would you buy this car?".

straight from the rules since you cant find the link
