quick question

Default quick question

i just acquired a 1989 hatch. i think its a dx. Previous owner my cousin in law. swapped the motor with d15b1, how many gears does the tranny have, because i can only see 1-4 and a R.

thanks any information is welcome, new to the EF game.

the Civic STD hatch came with D15B1 engine and 4-speed transmission - the Civic DX hatch came with D15B2 engine and 5-speed transmission

alright thanks. nice to know. how hard is it to switch it to 5 speed? change the tranny but do i need to change the shifter box?

no... just swap out the complete tranny and shift linkage, everything will work fine.

thanks. for the quick response. im going to get rid of the d15 and just get a zc motor single cam.
