I recently replaced the retractable antenna mast on my 94 Accord wagon. However I notice that when the radio is off, the mast does not retract ALL the way down; there's like .25" still stuck above the black housing. I have snipped off a bit of the plastic gear rack, that did nothing. i tried pulling the motor out so i could clock the gears a bit; the motor wouldn't come out w/out force, so didn't proceed further.

could it be that these ebay units aren't to spec? i know i bought it for an Accord.

 

Can you get a picture of it?
I was planning on getting one from ebay also.
