Default What a Cluster F@%4

So I'll start of my story...Bought another 91 crx dx? previous owner swapped a b18b1 into her went to get a smog passed emissions failed visual...he goes home to fix the exposed wires and ends up cuting the ecu plugs off, cut all kinds of everything up...I think i have it figured out found a guy with a new harness. hes runing d16z6 supercharged with nitrous...pulled the harness took it home put it in my car...get everything put where it goes when i notice that something doesnt look right...the big main plug(plugs into engine harness) on the driver side firewall next to resistorbox is 1/2 inch smaller, and has 4 less wires than the motor harness i have..then a few of the plugs under dash dont match up either did i buy an older harness? it has to be multi point...i dont get it, can i splice the big plug in or do i need yet another harness? thanks what about the missing wires?

if i read this right and you're saying that you snatched up a z6 harness, then yea.. that's not going to work. you need to get a stock dx harness and then convert it to mpfi.

well this harness should be either dx or si i pulled it myself and every plastic nut and zip tie that holds to the floor and fire wall were intact..it has a jumper kit for the obd 1-2 ecu p-28? its just a few plugs that i think i need to swap...sad thing is i could have had the whole motor harness to go with i thought my brand new one would plug right in...

The harness has to be DX or STD for it to plug into the underdash portion of your car's harness. Si, HF or EX sedan will not, as the firewall plug on a DX only has I believe 5 wires and the MPFI harnesses have 7. The extra 2 wires are for the Cylinder Position Sensor.

To save yourself the wiring hassle, just get a DPFI harness and convert it to MPFI.

you said you have a b18 yes? you will need the harness to match the ecu that you are using and i doubt the z6 could work
