black residue

Icon6 black residue

today i started my 88' ef and it spat out this black reidue from my exhaust it felt like sand and it was black.i have no clue what it is.
please help

Was it a lot?

Did you keep running the car?

Did it have an oder?

Did you inspect your exhaust?

Do you have a Catalytic conv?

If not then there is your answer.

Check if it is blown out or old. The Black grainy stuff you speak of is soot. And condinsation in your pipe takes it with it when you fire it up in the morning leaving a nice Art job on your driveway or garage door.

hey man i have aD15y7 motor i swap my d15y7 head for a vtec head d16y7 head, i plug every wire, the car runs but no vtec kick, i plug the A4 and D6 cables but dont work, i got the p28 ecu, can you help???

Mine does it and runs great. I think mostly all All-motor guys and anybody with No Catalytic converter have this happen.
