Hey Guys,

I have a small dilemma. I have a 1997 Honda Civic Hatchback and my Apexi World Sport II Cat-Back Exhaust System is rubbing against my Sway Bar Setup causing a rattling noise during driving. I was curious to know if anyone else had encountered this issue and what they did to fix it. Below I provided a picture for you to see exactly what it is I am referring to.



I am running a CTR 22mm Rear Sway Bar with an ASR Brace. The Sway Bar is mounted with Energy Suspension Bushings and D-Brackets as you can see ... this is where it rubs.

Now, I heard that I could shave/grind off some of the Canister Lip until it clears and it will have no effect on the Exhaust System at all, is this true? How much grinding off is too much? I dont want to end up with an exhaust leak or a damaged muffler, you know?

Just posting this up to see if anyone can point me in the right direction. I would like to get this issue solved since the rattling noise becomes annoying after awhile.

i have that problem before with my tanabe racng medallion.. i just cut i thick rubber and stick it in between.. now no rattling hehehe.. thats the only solution rather than removing your swaybar... i think the thick rubber solution is better...

 

Hmmm, might have to give that a try and see what happens. So you just slapped a piece of rubber in between the D-Bracket and the Canister's Lip and the rattling went away? How thick was the rubber?
