What tires u think would be best
ok i know that there isnt one tires that is the best on everything. but i want your opinoin on what im looking for so what im looking for is a tire that is really good for drag racing but had a very good tire treadlife so i can also driver to work everyday without having to change it every few months... thanks for the inputs
I hope you're talking about legal drag racing. If so, you should purchase slicks so you can swap your wheel set-up.
The best tire to purchase other than that would be Falken Azenis

only we now have better in the street class. the kumho xs, dunlop star spec and bridgestone 11. not to mention the new yoke ad08
No tire has great treadlife and great traction.
Here are various kinds of tires, starting with the best traction and worst treadlife, proceeding step by step to the worst traction and best treadlife:
1. Competition tires - drag radials for the dragstrip, R compound track tires for the racetrack - (typical treadlife 5K miles or less)
2. Supersticky summer tires - Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec, Kumho Ecsta XS, Bridgestone Potenza RE-11 (15K miles)
3. Longer-lasting summer tires - Yokohama S.drive, Fuzion ZRi (20-40K miles)
4. High-performance all-season tires - Kumho Ecsta ASX, Goodyear Eagle GT, Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position (35-55K miles)
5. Low-performance all-season tires - Kumho Ecsta AST, Falken Ziex ZE-912 (40-75K miles)

^ Agreed, Dunlop Direzza's have low treadlife.
I bought some recently and after 1 night of driving like a fool it was very noticible how much tread i had lost. ~1-1.25cm of tread i'd say
but they handle like a BEAST!

Considering that Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec only come with 0.79375 cm of tread to begin with (10/32"), how could one lose 1 to 1.25cm to wear?

one quick note you guys need to consider when price shopping. see this kumho ast up here that by tread should go 40k or more? if you drive slightly crazy or have a decent amount of hp they won't even do half this. my roommate bought of set of these POS tires for a turbo'd focus. 8k miles later they are bald. he spins and slides everywhere. of course my point is that a kumho xs will outlast the ast on a car like that simply because you won't be grinding the highway daily.
Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec ALL DAY! One of the best street tires ever. Outperform the Azenies in wet and dry.
Just as a side note, I work for discount tire and have a set on my 5th gen lude along with my manager who has them on his spec miata.
I 100% agree with nsxtasy, as treadlife and traction go hand-in-hand with each other. Why do you think R compounds disappear so quickly?
