I'm So Confused with my Wheel Bearings now!? PLEASE HELP!
Lemme start by explaining my situation. and yes i'm a n00b and I seek advice.
My Wheel Bearings are about to go soon... So I need to replace them.
I drive a 1998 Civic Si 2 Dr Coupe (US EX Model) with no ABS, and running with a D16Y8.
I pulled out the knuckles, bearings, and rotor from a 2000 Civic Not sure trim level but it's a Special Edition (Just base with A/C) , does not have ABS, and has a D16Y7.
Now here is the part that confuses me.
I had bought a set of bearings from an Altrom parts distributor, and they gave me a set of Bearings for a 98 Civic EX/Si. I looked up the part number, it doesn't say if it's for ABS or non ABS models.
I compared the NEW bearing inner circumference with the 2000 Civic Knuckles, the NEW inner circumference bearings are alot wider.
Does that mean the part from ALTROM is for an 98 EX/SI with ABS?
then I compared the 2000 Civic Knuckles/Hub/Rotor with my 98 Civic.. the Rotors of the 2000 CIVIC are smaller than mine.
My Rotors are bigger because i'm on a D16Y8 and require more stopping power?
Can I swap out the rotors from my 98 to the 2000 ? and put the 2000 Steering knuckle into mine?
Can I put the steering knuckle from the 2000 into my 98 if I changed over the rotors.
Just remember neither cars have ABS.

Ex/Si models have a different front knuckle than those on the lower models (CX, DX, LX), which explains the bearing difference.
You said you pulled the whole front knuckle off the 2000 civic right? Then just use those for the time being (caliper and all) and press new bearings into the knuckles that are on the car now.
Now that you've already bought the wrong knuckles, I think that this is the cheapest way out.

Also, remember that nothing on the car (front knuckles) will bolt up to the lower model civic ones you bought. In order to use the ones you bought you are going to have to use the rotor and caliper that came with them.
