Default Sedan Stalling Problems - Is this what I think?

My friend has a 1990 DX sedan who just started having stalling problems this morning with the civic. First off, the car hasn't been modified in any way so the D15B2 is bone stock alongside everything else. Everytime he starts up the car, it runs for about 5 secs and then dies slowing. We tried giving it gas after he started it and it dies instantly. So without gas, it'll last about 5 secs. I looked around over the throttle body to make sure all the vacuum lines are attached or corroded and everything looks fine. So I started thinking and was pondering if this might be a clogged EVAC problem or possibly a Main Relay going bad?

No check engine lights come on when it happens so I'm really starting to think its somewhere around these lines but not sure. Are there any other vacuum lines I can look at? What do you guys think?

Maybe the fuel filter on the firewall is clogged or just needs replaced. maybe the fuel pump is goin bad?? i had a fuel problem awhile back with my hatch it did the same thing but mine was due to rusted gas tank cloggn up fuel lines so i replaced the tank and the fuel sock and filters and blew them out and it fixed it.

We replaced the fuel filter today and the car didn't really start up at all. It caught and sputtered a little but died and wont' start up now. The engine still cranks but won't start. We also changed out the spark plugs, cleaned the eacv and checked the distributor cap and all looks fine. Also I had a spare relay laying around that I had fixed a while back for the fuel pump of my old hatchback and swapped his out with it. Still nothing. I put my ear up the fuel cap and had my friend turned the key so the fuel pump would prime and it seems to be priming. I've got no other idea on what to look at? Any more suggestions? I'm up for anything! Thanks again for your help guys!

make sure the two lines on the fuel filter aren't switched.

Are you getting good pressure to the fuel rail? You can remove the 10mm bolt from the fuel filter and check.

Is there good pressure coming out of the FPR? For this iv always just pulled the hose off the end of the FPR

I would suggest checking these.

Sounds like there is something going on in your fuel tank - like debris that clogs up the sock filter on the pump.
Or the fuel pump giving you warning signs that it is going to die.

Fuel pressure gauge like dephtone suggested.

Either way even though you are getting no codes a friend had a similar problem and it ended up being (after a long money and time wasting elimination process) the map sensor of all things.
