Honestly, those are the dumbest reasons to get a car. I mean really, as long as you (the owner) is truely happy with the car, why should you give a rats *** how cool others think it is or how much attention you get because of your car?!

Example: I think the 2000 Camaros are long and a little weird looking stock. I think they need to be lowered. BUT a friend of mine got one, rocked it mostly stock, and he loved it. And honestly, I was happy for him. But that didn't mean that I liked the car. It wasn't for me to like. He bought it for himself. Eventually he got rid of it because feeding that LS1 just wasn't practical for a dd at the time. He still misses it though.

you did know that people are always asking if a camaro or mustang is better but everyone has there own opinion of it and that is why people still ask this question

For 2000. I vote Camaro. When you add 2005+ into the picture, IMO, nothing beats it in terms of looks. Even when compare to the 10 model.

 

Both have dated platforms (i.e. lots of chassis flex), both have tiny interiors for the size of the car. But, the Camaro has the LS1. That, puts it over the top for me.

 

Camaro gets my vote.

 

stang without a doubt. If you were to go 01 and get a cobra with some new bushings the IRS would be an awsome road setup as well as drag.

 

The Cobra IRS sucks. It's a little better than a solid axel for handling, but is horrible for drag racing. Most guys that drag Cobras swap out the IRS for an 8.8".

 

I take it you've never been to a dealership before in your life. Sadly, thats the VERY FIRST thing people ask. Followed by gas mileage, which I find hilarious for someone to even to consider on a "muscle car."

you think your the first person to tell me about threads i made about nearly the same thing. .......i have a problem about people telling me about other cars when they actually suck so thats why i keep making alot of threads

 

Do you own research. Go to lstech or a camaro forum, and read up. Then, go to a mustang forum, and read up. Go through the FAQ's, look at the pet peeve threads, look at some build and dyno threads, and then make up your mind.

We are not google, just make up your own mind. For every guy that says ford sucks, you'll find a guy that says chev sucks, so whats the point?

There will be no better way to learn about the two cars than to frequent their respective forums, and find out what kind of problems are common in each, and what kind of power each will make. The rest (cosmetic differences) will just be up to your personal taste.

Look for pet peeve threads and browse the FAQ's.

 

If it comes down to the 2010 models... Camaro SS wins hands down!

 

For 2000 model I think the Camaro V8 LS1 FTW, looks I like the mustang cobra better.

 

i know this. I know more about stangs than i do hondas. It can handle the power if upgraded properly its the wheel hop and the half shafts that you get problems with. If you change out the bushings and upgrade the control arms wheel hop is all but gone. He never said he was gonna race it or anything but a mildly upgraded IRS is far better than a solid for a mixed driving situation

 

id have to say for a 2000 its camaro hands down LS1 FTW!!!! but if you step up a couple years to the 03-04 then cobra :drool:

 

I had an 02 mustang GT and I was pretty happy with it. With only H&R Super sports and Koni Yellows (and big sticky tires) the car handled pretty well. It certainly felt like it handled better than my 06 rsx-s. The car was very reliable too. I drove it to almost 100k and only had to replace the alternator.

With that sad, both are good cars. I'd choose a mustang but that's primarily because I think they look better. From a sheer performance standpoint, the camaro is better.
(I also like the way the modular motors sound vs the LS's pushrod)
