Default Quartermaster 5.5 inch clutches

Thinking about setting up a tripple plate 5.5 inch on my car. Any one here used one before and/or did it cause any problems or headaches?

I have the Quartermaster 5.5 V-carbon in my car. They are very expensive to replace parts, lets just say that.

Ive had bad luck with mine, we think its because the install has to be absolutely perfect. it is way more particular then any other clutch I have ran.

I am considering a cerematalic tripple 5.5. Someone mentioned something to me about having a big from dampner if I went 5.5. Is this true? They made it sound like I would have some type of issue otherwise.

If your talking about a B-series motor/trans, i don't even think a triple disk could fit. The twin carbon 5.5 barely clears in the bell housing as it is.You even have to run special low profile button head bolt so it doesn't hit the case. If i were in the market right now to buy a clutch it would be the tilton carbon carbon.

Like ^^^ he said, you cant even run a normal bolt with that clutch because of clearance.

The triple fits under the same cover. The discs are thinner to make the stack height the same.
