my integra pipe size question and which touch up paint is as close to champ white as
here is my exhaust set up
dc carb legal header
stock cat
apexin1 full catback
i know forsure for a fact that the pipes are 2.36in (60mm) and i grabbed a friends pipe laying around from his old set up which is also 2.36in
we chopped the resonator on my friends pipe and added a 2.5 pipe in place of the resonator
so this is how the exhaust flow would be dc header > stock cat > 2.36 pipe which turns into a 2.5 and back to 2.36 after exiting the flange all the way to the muffler.
does any exhaust guru know the whole deal of what is going on with my system? is it fine? or will be robbed of power down end, mid range, top end. confused exhaust pulses etc? thanks help please
also which touch up paint is as "close or exact" as champion ship white as possible. can be from any car make because the autozone i checked doesnt have a champ white "looking" color for honda.
thanks help please!!

not an exhaust guru, but usually people replace the catalytic converter with a test pipe, not the resonator. why would you remove a resonator, but keep the cat?

also a resonator has no back pressure, they are all straight thru if you got a chance to look into any of them at all. They just decrease sound noise, thats it.
also running no resonator isn't bad on a apexi n1 because the can is so big there is a lot of sound deadening packing in the canister it self. i gave a self estimate of 2db increase? not much at all. the resonator is dented to hell so i decided to delete it.
anyone give insight on my pipe flow would be good, i've read somewhere that exhaust pulses can go backwards if it hits a bottle necking point... and that could be bad. and my bottle neck point would be from 2.5in back to 2.36in

your exhaust question is reasonably confusing to say the least. But i think i got the most of the question answered ..
Depending upon what your setup is currently this sounds like an acceptable setup .. i'm guessing you're running an N/A setup based on the pipe diameter .. anyways if it is indeed an N/A setup then the diameter of the pipe where the resonator pipe you replaced matches up with the B-pipe again shouldn't have nearly any effect on your system. A bottleneck deals with more severe pipe diameter changes, such as 2.25in -> 1.75in (-0.5in), and in your case you are only dealing with a -0.14inch difference in diameter which is relatively small comparatively. The pipe you added is doing somewhat the same job as the previous resonator did except it doesn't disperse the noise as well as the previous resonator. Also, with the n1's large canister muffler setup there should be little to no resistance to the flow of your exhaust.
If this is a FI setup then a larger pipe diameter will be needed.
Anyone else have something to add?
Hope that helps

You can also buy a bottle of Championship White touch-up paint at any Acura dealer for around $7. Phone ahead, as they may need to order it for you.
