B18b EF issue!
Hey guys/girls.
Just wondering if anyone else has had any issues with a B18b crank pulley rubbing against the crossmember torsion bar when the car is lowered more than a certain amount. We still want to close up some wheel-gap in front, but can't because of this.
Want to avoid going with a lightweight crank pulley because we don't feel like killing the oil pump.
Any possible solutions or is the car just going to have to stay at this height?
Thanks.

yes i had that problem... my bar would only rub when i went up super steep inclines at an angle though (garages). regardless i went to a ctr pulley over 2 years ago and never looked back.... or if youre boosted, get your stock one milled down at a machine shop for around 40-70 bucks depending on their hourly rate. lastly, the type r pulley has smaller rungs for accessories so it might clear. ... you could go with that one if u wanna keep ac.
This is actually for my bro in laws EF. It's boosted and no a/c, ps, just alternator.
Just trying to find some alternatives to be able to lower the front end more.
I have a buddy who works at a machine shop who can probably mill it down, but we were just curious to see what OEM Honda pulley can be used to clear the torsion bar.
Now is the CTR pulley smaller in diameter or?

the harmonic balancer prevents premature wear on your crank bearings. It BALANCES the internals properly. Theres plenty of information on this.
B18's dont have harmonic balancers as they are internally balanced. The little rubber ring on the stock pulley is a noise isolator PERIOD.
Lol,
inline 4's do not come with harmonic balancers. You are the one spreading miss information I suggest you do your research.
