so i heard my brakes grinding the other day, and when i took it apart to see what the deal was, the right outter pad was totally wasted to the max, but the inner was still close to original thickness...and the left side looked basically new still...anyhow i'm assuming its the slides in the caliper, but i cant be sure...is this fixable, or is a new caliper in order? any help would be much appreciated

Sounds like your right. The slides are stuck or possibly the piston is stuck or combo of the 2.. If I were you I would just go get a re-man caliper for your local parts house. Imo they should be replaced in pairs but you could do just one. You also could rebuild it but that depends on your ability/time to do it.. Good luck
