How much would it cost to repair this CBR?
I'm thinking about buying a wrecked CBR for cheap and then going somewhere to fix it. Unless its going to cost more to fix it than just getting a CBR that isn't wrecked.

Headlights, fairings, clip ons, forks, radiator, bar ends, pegs, tires, seals, a battery, and if the frame hasn't been computracked to see if it's still straight, include that too.
That's only the things that you can assume is wrong with it. Never mind the exhaust, if it's damaged beyond use, mirrors if they didn't shatter, gauges if that didn't wack the ground, and windscreen, too.
In all reality, the fact that it's been sitting for two years (probably without proper "winterizing" steps taken for the fluids, most importantly the fuel), the tires are probably old and dry rotted, the O rings in the chain is probably compromised and now it might have tight spots, etc, etc. It's probably not worth it unless you can use it as a parts bike.
Price the parts on bike bandit, and then find out if you can do labor yourself or you are willing to pay someone else to do it. You only have two points in contact with the pavement, better make sure everything that keeps those two down are in tact.

get a set of upside down forks off a 600rr, rip the plastics off, and make a headlight. get it for 500 and you could have it on the road for another 500.
Going the street fighter route may be the idea. Keep in mind the tube are bigger on the 600rr, than the F3. You'll need the triple tree, clipons, etc.
Someone with some experience would be able to get it going again (assuming the neck/frame are still good) but I wouldn't recommend this for a first bike. Nothing worse than getting neck-deep into a resto project and finding yourself over your head.

Don't entire agree with you on this. A good set of 600rr forks, triples, and wheel will run you between 500 and 800, plus what it would cost to have it installed. If he's asking how much it would cost to repair that bike, he's probably a relative noob with bikes...which would make a fork swap more than a weekend in-your-garage deal.

There was a complete (switches, clip-ons, master cylinder, wheel, rotors, etc) '07 R1 front end going for $400 on either wera or r1-forum. Deals can be found if you shop around. I missed out on that upgrade by a few days....
