Default installing clock: noob

So i went to the junkyard today and bought a few parts for my car. one of the parts i got was a clock to replace the block off on the a/c vent. i took off the ac vent and installed the clock and pluged it in to that wire that was in there. i started the car and the time doesnt show up, but when i hold onto that small button on the corner it lights up and i see the time. i want it to be on when the car starts and i want the time to be the right time and not reset everytime. there is anything that i have to do? am i doing something wrong? any help appreciated. thanks

Clock is probably broken, it should be on all the time.

Sounds broken to me, like i said it should be one as soon as you flip the key.
Dims when headlights are on.
Sounds like the internal memory on the clock is bad if it resets every time, open it up search for loose connections or burnt tracks.

yeah that one. is it only useful if you have an equalizer? anyways, what kind of consoles or from what car would fit my hatch?

I picked it up at the junkyard, it was off a hatch.

I have the optional headunit that works with the equalizer as well both work perfectly.

The one i have is OEM for EF Sedans/Hatchbacks, I don't like to use parts off other cars, however EG Armrests fit, and DC Integra Lowerconsole and Armrest fit.

the clock should have been a simple plug & play. Mine had no clock but behind the block off plate was the plug in clip,so unless that clip was busted, you should have acc. power(when key is flipped) and constant power(at all times), check wiring.
