I just bought a 1991 honda civic today the guy told me it was an Si but the vin says it is ed6 not ed7 but the car has a multi point fuel injection system on it and has a sunroof.

So I was wondering because I can not find this any where did non Si hatches have an option for a sunroof? From what I have found only Si have sunroofs and it was not available for non Si. So is the vin and title wrong, or is it not an Si, or is it?

If any one has any info on this let me know thank you.

 

that is strange. the ed6 is the std model and it doesn't come with squat. no sunroof, no rear wiper, no intermittent wipers, 4spd instead of 5spd trans, no clock, and its dpfi. sooo i'm not sure how to explain your car lol. so i guess check and see if you have all these things. also, do you have an si interior?

 

I have all of the si stuff ie 5spd trans, sunroof, clock, speedo with tach, mpfi, and I wish it still had the si seats it has gsr leather in the worst condition ever.

it was converted to a si.. i had a friend who had a 88 hatch and a wrecked si. he took of the roof from the si and tack welded it in place of the orignal 88 roof and had a sunroof now..take of roof liner and panels to see if this is what happened in your case.

 

I will when I get a chance. Plus I am ashamed at the way it looks right now LOL I just bought it.

That is very possible but not likely. but I will look when I start working on it.

 

Dash swap is most likely event. Compare the dash/title vins to the firewall Vin. Firewall vins are the only ones I trust.

 

Tried to do that today but I can not find the VIN on the firewall I know that it is usually right in the middle under the cowl but I could not find it is it some where else on 91s?

 

you mean it's not in the location highlighted by the chrome reflection in this picture?

 

lol yeahi can see it from here lol...you see where the pipe shine is reflecting on that gray part of the firewall right above 3 holes you see some letters...check theres 2 things a dash swap or a full Si conversion remember this cars almost 20 years old and its probably had more than 2 owners and you dont know what they did to it but anyways if you got all the extras why care if its ed6 or ed7 its still not ef9 hahahaha

 

so does that mean you dont want the DA ???
