So my buddies LS blew up and his estimate to get it fixed for the 3 places he took it was over 1500 at all places. So we decided on swapping in a b20 long block from hmotors instead. As far as things I would need for this swap what should I have as far as a to get list for the swap? Also will his p75 run the b20 okay? or would we need to get the b20 ecu? Any help is appriciated. Thanks
You made the right choice. I blew my engine a few years back after trusting some dumb F*** to install nitrous on my b18c1. Since then I went to school for auto and did all the work myself.
I got a 9:6:1 CR JDM B20 from HMO for 1000 bucks after shipping costs. Best bang for the buck IMO. They have all the power of a GSR, more torque, AND they run on regular..
Things you will need off the top of my head..
1. P75
2. LS Wiring harness
3. LS intake Manifold (B20 ones are too tall)
4. LS PS pump
Well all the LS crap I assume you have already..
I would DEFINATELY reccomend get AT LEAST a new rear mount when swapping this engine. I just re used all my mounts and a year later I was replacing my rear mount. It was a bitch. I did it without an engine lift, dont ask how. Innovative is nice, and affordable.
What else, oh HMO (at least the last time I checked) has the crappy 8:8:1 CR B20 for 650 and the High CR 9:6:1 for only 750. Yeah, just get that one. Only 100 extra bucks.
If you have any more specific questions you can reply to this post or pm me..
