Default Best 195/50/15 tires out right now...

I need to buy a new set of tires and was wondering what some of you guys are running. Something decently priced and performs well. I was pretty loyal to the AVS's until they discontinued them. I wanted to try the Falken Azenis, but the 205 width rubbed my front and rear fenders. Just looking for 195/50/15 recommendations...thanks

Potenza S-03's are $79 each at http://www.tirerack.com. Excellent grip for a daily driver and wonderful in the rain. I'd much rather have 195/55/15 RE010's.... but $158 a tire is loony. I'd go with the S-03's, there isn't much else in that size.

Me too, bt I'm curious why you are ruling out 195/55?

Coolio, that increases your options 10x. I would like the 010's or more economically, Kumhos (I think they come in 195/55, but I'm not sure)

cool, thanks for the suggestions. Now I just have to wait until my car is fixed and actually running before I go and decide which tire to get...hehe
Seems like the board is pretty split between the Kumho's and the S-03's though...

S03's are good all around tires. I have a set of Azenis also, but they were to fast so I save them for the track. Plus the S03's are good in standing water too. Only problem I've noticed with the S03's are that the side was are a little soft so the car tends to push a little more when on the gas through a turn.

Of course if you lift the throttle through a corner, it doesn't matter what tyre you have on your car... right Craig?

Bridgestone RE010, 195/55-15.

A bit pricey, but they're great tires.

:middlefinger: the S03's are bad with that. If I push it hard through a corner, you can fell the car just pushing through the corner, then let up the gas and the end comes right around. Its kinda fun, but I've learned not to push it to hard, unless i feel like wrecking some more body panels.

Yeah, if you don't mind replacing them every 4K miles. Treadwear = 60 on these track tires. But they can hum a mean tune!
