D16A--No spark, no fuel pump prime--checked main relay and srchd!!
So the motor wont turn over, I pulled off the cap and my diz rotor apparently flew off, destroying the contact points on the cap and the rotor itself. Slapped on a brand new cap and rotor, and I still have no spark--I have not yet checked the ignitor (should I?) Now, when I key on the car I do not hear the fuel pump prime, switched out my main relay--I hear it click on but again, no fuel pump prime that I can hear--I have yet to do a fuel pressure check. This happened as I was driving I stepped on the throttle and it just fell flat. Could these problems be related? Any ideas would be much appreciated--Im going to further diag my spark issue tomorrow Thanks!
In for an answer. I just swapped a Z6 into my beater that hasn't moved in like 2 years and I'm having the same problems (no spark, no fuel prime).
Check the fuse under the dash for fuse #14 Alternator Solenoid valve. This powers things like the main relay, which also powers the distributor and the fuel pump. I would check there first. Also check the ECU fuse under the hood to see if maybe that is broke also.
Just checked fuse 14, its fine. Im so confused. Is it possible that me cranking the car again and again could have burned out my fuel pump? I was stranded in the city trying to get somewhere, so when I was first trying to start it I wasnt listening for the pump.
Ok so, what I failed to mention was that when trying to bolt everything back up, I put my battery in backwards (tard)..This blew the 60A main which I replaced...what I didnt realize was that my underhood ecu fuse was indeed blown. As well as the ECU! I popped in a spare ecu I had and it runs. Thanks for all the suggestions. One thing does lead to another!
