CLUTCH CABLE PROB?
I recently had a whole new clutch kit and a new cable put in on my EF (since both went bad) and it was working great for a while. First the clutch was being weird so they replaced that for free but just today its been getting harder and harder to shift. The point where the clutch engages/disengages has been moving closer and closer towards the floor. The pedal is also harder to press down. I'm thinking something funky with the cable?
I dunno but any help is appreciated!

It may be just the clutch disk breaking in. How many miles have you put on your clutch since youve changed it. One thing you can check also is to make sure that your clutch cable brackets are all threre and hold the cable tight, one behind the valve cover one behind your distributer. If your cable is loose in the engine bay especially older cables when it gets hot from the engine or just outside temp your shift point will slip after driving for a little while.
I've only put maybe 300-400 miles on the clutch since it was replaced. But I dont think its that.. Every time the point where it engages/disengages at the pedal gets lower, it stays there. I dunno, I've checked those brackets and they seem fine! I got a 3 month warranty on both anyway so I guess just have them check it out..
have you adjusted your cable? during the break in period for a new clutch you have to adjust it for wear. Trace your cable to your tranny find the adjustment nut and turn it clockwise 2 clicks at a time until you have your throw set on your pedal.
If your clutch pedal's shift point is bottoming out to the floor, that means your cable is too loose. As well as if your clutch pedal is releasing from the very top, then its too tight.
Supposively the shift point should be around at half way point from the top to the floor of the pedal. But everyone has their preference. I think too tight or loose will cause wear.
Clutch cables or suppose to "self-adjust" according to soem folks I talked too. But to be honest, I never seen them do that.
It should be a black **** unless they oryou painted it white. Its a plastic **** attached to your clutch cable. The **** should be located at the passenger side in front of your tranny.
Righty is tighty, and lefty is loosey. Hope this helps, good luck.

open the hood and turn the white **** on the cable. left loosy right tighty. i recomend loose cuz the clutch pedal needs to be able to engage when the pedal is an inch away from the floor. the tighter the higher. looser the lower.
