I want to buy an S2K, I need advice.
Well I currently own a 1998 civic coupe and I like the car and all BUT theives and daily driving a car that I want to put alot of money into isn't smart at all. I want to buy an S2000 to daily no wife no kids I'm 18 so no worries about that. I have a few concerns that maybe people can help me with, s2000 owners lol, hows the insurance on them it would be under my moms name anyway just wondering is it a lot more or what? Also I dont want an AP2 because money wont allow and plus same body for the most part aside from the glass window and what not but yeah I want an AP1 02-03. Curious to things i should know and so on and so forth! Thanks guys in advance!
Just make sure if you buy an AP1 with over 90k miles ,you wil have to replace the timing chain tensioner and get the valves adjusted, also if I was you i will replace the oil pump.
gl with whatever you find

Thanks I'm actually in search of one with under 45k in white lol. Found one for 11.5 but im still not 100% ready to get an s2k so im in the searching stage
Get an insurance quote from your mom's agent. Nothing anyone tells you about their own insurance is an indication of what you would pay. It will range from $50-750/month. Only your mom's agent can narrow it down.

I am 19, not a good driving record at all, but no accidents. Im under my parents insurance so its cheaper havin 3 other cars insured under one agent. I pay 160 a month, but the only way to know wut yours will be would be to call your moms agent. And i worry about theives more with my s2000 than i ever did with my integras.

GooNiiexeJ6, If you worried about theft, owning a S with a hardtop is best. Also the S is not a civic so you would need to change your driving style especially in Jersey. IMHO, I worry about a teenager owning a S.
I love my s2000, i thought i loved my tegs but i really didnt now that i have an S. Daily drivin is not bad at all, sometimes i do wish i had a bigger car but then i realize how fun the car is. I get a lot of compliments in the car. Honestly if you are not stupid with your S its a great car. Dont be the kid that drives around and revs at everyone that pulls up beside you haha.
I miss my s2000 so much. It was the best car I've ever owned with honda reliability and RWD action.
Good luck in your search. Also, if you plan to own an s2000, I hope you have a garage to park it in. I do not advise parking it on the street, or even in your driveway thinking it safe because there are so many thefts that happen anyway with people thinking it's safe in their driveway.
