My buddy is about to get the PPG or Gforce tranny. We're looking at options on a Billet Bell Housing if we went with the Gforce. Can anyone chime in to let us know that's it's worth to purchase? Let me know guys...
im not sure that ppg offers a billit bell housing, but i heard of a case brace. Im in the same boat right now, trying to figure out between those 2 and a liberty. I heard you can have the factory one welded up, but i dunno what that all involves
Anywho, a stock case and liberty case should be VERY similiar. You may have to machine where the PPG collar goes to make it fit but I'm sure it'll be very minimal.
The PPG B series set comes with a lower brace that way you don't need the billet bell housing... so far so good and the stock cases holding up!!!
I have 47 passes on my H series PPG set and still shifts like butter! I took it apart at 25 passes and it looked like it was never ran!

GFORCE is working on a braced design for there trans so they told us.Called them today to find out more about it but had to leave a message. We have to pick one up we had repaired this week for one car going to imstar so ill ask when we go.
the ppg will not go into the billet case without machining the bellhousing to fit the lower cuff... with that being said, i CAN say that the lower cuff on the PPG will not be the "end all" for case failures....and u will find out soon enough why....
i know more than one person that has broken multiple stock inner housings with the ppg lower gear stack brace.... so its not the end all.
.... and no, i dont belive in the hype of buying brand new stock bellhousings. its not the answer, its the excuse.

Just like anything in this world. You don't know what a used part has been through. It's an obvious weak link in the bellhousing. Start off with a used one that's been stressed for god knows how many miles, it only makes sense that it might not last as long as a new one that hasn't been stressed. It's a chance you take with used parts.

I decided last minute not to sand/polish/buff the other half of the case. Mine looks VERY dirty on one side. I told one guy I wanted to do a 50/50 comparision of before polishing and after. I think he believed me.
Oh well.
I heard a couple companies were looking to build billet cases, but I think those ideas went down the drain...
