Default Need help from the EG hatch folks regarding moon roof

EG members I've had my moon roof on my 95 SI pull away (delaminate/come unglued) from the frame work twice. I've bought an Integra and was talking to the folks in that forum with regards to this issue to see if I should swap the roof skin for a non-moon roof. They think I'm nuts. Anyone out here to back my story. Its a factory roof and twice it's come off at about 120 mph. You can search for topics by me or by 'Moonroof flying off' in the Integra section. By the way, I live in Florida and the warm temperatures may have something to do with this as the 'glue' is butyl. Thanks in advance for your support.

Dang Honda not testing their glues to 120 mph. They should have planned ahead better...

There was a guy with an older Civic Si that removed his roof skin and put one in without a moon roof. You're going to have to reinforce the chassis before cutting your old skin out, measure several times and weld VERY carefully. The thin metal warps easy. It can be done though.

I'm actually going to put a complete roof skin on, I was just wondering if anyone else had this problem.....oh, my bone stock SI would do 130, not that Honda intended for people to do this. I'm just wondering with all of the power these cars can make if anyone else has had these problems.

haha, i dont think power has anything to do with it. mine came off when cruising from a weksauce meet last year.

i have good insurance so i called it in and had the dealer replace it. to this day i am paranoid about it.

i bought a new moonroof visor so i can roll with it closed and not have to worry about air lifting it !!
