Back In A Type-R
I'm going to use this as a build thread for the PY Type-R I just purchased, but first I thought I'd share a bit about what ended me up at this R.
Growing up, a Type-R had always been my dream car, but I always felt that one was out of reach and ended up purchasing a 2001 Integra SE in August of 2006 when I was 17 years old. I spent almost all of my money from my part time job working in a Honda parts department on JDM parts for it, but still being full time in high school, it didn't ever turn into what I wanted.
In March of 2007 I ran into an old friend who was driving a bone stock 1997 Type-R that he had just picked up from a middle aged man for $10,000. He didn't have it up for sale, but expressed how he wanted to get a truck and would sell it if the price was right. I went straight home and convinced my parents to lend me the money for the car, promising that I would sell my SE and all the parts from it and pay them back ASAP. I purchased 1997 #000481 for $11,000 the next day.
I immediately fell in love with the car and spent all of my time researching Type-Rs and working on my car. I saved up enough cash to give her a much needed fresh coat of Championship White and bought a few Mugen pieces for her.
A month after the fresh repaint, a student attempting to drift his dad's truck hit me head on while I was stopped at a stop sign outside of my high school. I then decided to go ahead and install a JDM front with insurance footting most of the bill.
The next summer, after graduating high school, I decided that driving a newer, lower km car that I could drive in winter would be better and I sold my Type-R and picked up a tastefully modded 2003 RSX-S. I almost immediately regretted my decision.
After writing off my RSX last fall, I ended up driving a 2001 CR-V and doubting that I would ever drive a fun car again.
I made it through the winter and ended up getting several promotions at work to the point where I could finally afford to drive both a winter and summer car. I started looking for mint, lower km, stock Type-Rs, but as you all know, those aren't exactly the easiest to find. I ended up seeing a 2000 PY with 160,000kms on it for sale about 3 hours away and jumped in the car to go check it out. It was exceptionally clean for a car with that many kilometers and burnt next to no oil. I had the car inspected and 3 days later I drove back with a friend and picked up #00-1086.
I plan to mod it tastefully and fully enjoy it at the track this next summer. I will post any updates in this thread, but they won't be as frequent as some on this board as I am still only 20 and my mortgage payment takes up much of my budget for mods haha.
Here are some picks of both old and new.

Thanks for the compliments guys. I found the JDM 16's on eBay.ca actually and ended up paying about $1100 shipped for the set.
Anyways... I met a friend last night and picked up a few new parts...
New Hawk HP+ Pads

A minty set of Spoon Twinblocks

sweet car, sweet parts.
FYI, the GM synchromesh you bought is the wrong type, you will need Friction Modified Syncromesh PN 12377916. you only need 2.4 quarts also.

Yah, I realize that, I'm going to order a set of H&R 5mm spacers. Also, I've looked into the friction modified syncromesh and some local ITR owners said it's not worth the extra cash. Anyone disagree?
They look like they are used, just resprayed, FYI.
You can tell by looking at the pics, new doesn't have any overspray
(I know cause I just sold a set of new)
