I have a b18b in my crx. Originally i had a proper obd1 alternator on there and it everything was working fine. That one went bad, so i bought just any old b-series alt i could find. The one i have on here now works just fine, until i hit about 4k rpm. Once i hit 4k, the battery light comes on, and all my lights dim/flicker, until i get under 4k, then they go right back to normal. Turns out its from a DA. is the alternator going bad, or is it because its obd0? will i be ok, or is this gonna go bad soon too?

 

Sounds like it has a diode that is bad or going bad if the lights are pulsating. Test it to be sure.

 

ok. sounds good. so, the fact that its obd0 shouldnt be an issue?

 

its probably not charging correctly, if its even charging. check to see if the battery is getting charge. it might have some juice in it, but not enough to keep up with the motor at high r's

 

No that shouldnt really make a difference. Especially if it was working fine before.
