just bought a shortblock with ctr pistons from jakespec. he told me it was a jdm type r motor so i assume its type r cuz people been vouching him saying he a legit seller. went to his friend shop and took out the oil pan. we found out there was no R on the crank. i heard that if its true type r crank it says R on it right? correct me if i am wrong.
he told me a story that the 1st gen b18c type r dont have R on its and all his buddy were saying yeah yeah its true. so i bought the block for 500. and he offer 550 i was iffy but still bought it anyways.
can some one send me pics of jdm type r crank and jdm Gsr cranks
WHOLE CRANK WITH GIRDLE

THE ONLY MARKINGS ON THE CRANK ARE:

I guess it matters as far as not being ripped off. But how can there be a functional difference between the two? It won't be balanced as it was from the factory anyway. All that really matters is that it was assembled correctly, since both the GSR and ITR crank are quality pieces.
take the crank out and measure it then you will offically know if its a type r crank........ if you dont know how to measure it call me 714 583 2365 and you can bring it to the shop here in long beach and we will measure it
