Default H22 into 4th gen.. what PS?

OK, so I did my first H22 into a 4th gen Accord and was confused at what to do to the PS system. I used the H22 PS pump and H22 bracket that came with the motor but when I use the OEM hose from the F22 4th gen Accord the fitting did not fit or match onto the H22 PS pump. I went to buy a new PS pressure hose for a 94 Prelude VTEC at Autozone part# 91750 and it curves just like the prelude pressure hose line but the fitting to the pump still the same as my OEM 4th gen F22. I'm completely lost.

Any idea? need help quick.
Thanks in advance guys and girls.

On the 5th Gen Accord, you can retain your stock F22 pump by using the 97+ Lude p/s bracket.

With your situation, alot of the H22 4th Gen Accord owner would take the prelude & accord p/s hose to get it custom made with the upper part being prelude & lower being accord and it does it give it a cleaner look.

I got a 4th gen so... is that the only way to do it?

Anyone else got their take on this? I'm using the H22 PS pump and bracket.... I thought that if I buy the DOHC 92-96 Prelude PS pressure hose, everything would bolt up.

I can't imagine the 4th and 5th gen engine bays being that much different. Have you tried the Accord Pump/Line and 97+ Prelude bracket? If you swapped an H22A I'm sure that bracket won't work.

I never swap into a 5th gen so I don't know if any difference. I guess I'll look into it.

The original motors are similar as are most of the other components it's probably a good chance it'll work the same.

Do you have ANY idea what he's talking about? I don't think his "car dealer" is going to be able to assist in swapping a H22A into a 90-93 Accord and tell him what power steering setup he needs.

Let's not post just to post 'kay?

Yea I do my own work, it's much more fun and rewarding having the feeling I built the car myself.

Anyways... back to topic.

I think I might end up cutting and welding the Prelude line and Accord line together... might not be the cleanest looking hose but as long as it works.

If you can get yourself a hold of a JDM h22 power steering pump, then that USDM line will bolt up, I know because thats the set up I'm running
Or, you could also use the f22 pump and bracket to run power steering on the h22, to prevent jumping of belts, I ran the f22 crank, hope this helps

The F22 pump and bracket do not work on the H22. The way I've always seen it done, at least in 5th gens

- Accord pump
- Accord lines
- 97+ Prelude bracket

Since the bodies between 4th and 5th are almost the same I don't see the nonfunctional (for 5th) f22 pump/bracket working on a 4th.

OP, just try to get your hands on JUST the Prelude bracket and run Accord stuff, shouldn't be more than $20 if you look around.

Trust me it works, 4th gen accord p/s bracket from a f22 on a h22a4 swap in a 90 accord 5 speed sedan, It only bolted down on two bolts and it required washer to hold but it worked, ran the set up for 5 years, until i came across a h22 jdm pump and a USDM h22a 95 prelude p/s hoes, the only reason why i ditch the set up was the top portion of the f22 bracket was leaving a indention on the hood from closing while the jdm pump and bracket with Lude USDM line look cleaner and no clearance issue with hood any more. If i still have pictures of old set I will post just to clarify.

The set up you have mention i've personally have never tried but if so I wished I've would of known, would of saved me the dent on the hood.

Haha, one of the main reasons that setup isn't recommended. But glad to hear you got it to work with the JDM pump and USDM hoses.

The setup I mention is what I ran, I tried the F22 bracket (clearance issues as you had), H23 bracket (almost identical to the F22) JDM H22 (didn't work for some reason or another) and ended up zip tie'ing the damn pump to the ABS setup until I found out the 97+ Prelude one bolted right up.

I think I got the JDM H22 from a 5th gen Honda Accord.
Is the JDM 5th gen Accord PS bracket and pump same as USDM Honda Accord?

Anyway I'll probably end up cutting the pressure hose line and wield the JDM upper portion and Accord lower portion together.
