I was told that my electronic load detector was causin my CEL to come on. Dealership says that it costs $175 + tax to replace/fix. I'm aware that it has something to do with voltage management and economy but my question is how important is the ELD and is it something I can do on my own to save $.

 

its quite easy, its the huge brown thing in ur fusebox under the hood, its 2 8mm screws and a plug on back

 

X2 buy the part from honda it's pretty cheap take the bolts that are holding fuse box to car off. undo the pos battery wires going into fuse box.. you will see tabs on the bottom pop them apart so you have access to everything loosen to two screws/nuts that the ELD is attached to and swap it out.

Super easy shouldn't take you more then a half hour if you don't know what your doing.


I replaced this and my CEL went away.
