So, just went to the dyno today to checked the new engine to make sure it was safe to drive around for the break-in period. I got a B16A1 with B16B pistons, ITR intake and ITR cams, running OBD0 ecu, etc...The dyno guy suggested me that I should convert to OBD1 because there are way more parameters that can be tune versus the OBD0. I use the Crx for the track mostly. Obviously, converting to OBD1 will cost more money. (250$ OBD1 chipped ECU, 125$ for the conversion rewiring +....) They say that they would be able to use my current OBD0 dizzy....
So, is it worth it or the guy is just not competent enough to tune a OBD0 car and trying get me to spend cash on him? It kind of smell fishy when he gave me the impression that he "couldn't or didn't tune OBD0 anymore"....Or he's just trying to suggest me something to get as much potential out of the engine with the OBD1 conversion?
Worth it or just go somewhere else that will tune my car on OBD0?
Need your opinion, thanks

Change to obd1. the guy was not trying to get you to spend money for no reason. it is better. Im in the process of changing obd0 to obd1 and you can get a much better tune out of it. Im just waiting for my dizzy to come in and I should be all good. I would recommend and im sure all of the other guys will be telling you that also. g/l
Also you CANNOT use a obd0 distributor on a obd1 ECU. It does not work like that. You will need a obd1 ECU, distributor, 4 wire o2, and conversion harnesses.
250 bucks for a chipped obd1 ECU is expensive as all get out. Go to phearable.net they have obd1 chipped VTEC ECU for 175 bucks.
Also Rywire.com has all the wiring you need also for 190 bucks, thats ECU conversion, distributor conversion, etc. http://rywire.com/store/8891-crxcivi...vtec-p-71.html

Obd1 cars have the exact same sensors as a obd0 except the o2 sensor which is 4 wires instead of a 1 wire in obd0 cars.
You can get the car tuned on obd0 there are just very limited people that still work with TurboEdit or BRE or GhettoDyne etc. It is just easier to convert to obd1, it is less hassle in the long run.

OK, so is there a specific model distributor OBD1 I need to complete this conversion? Or any OBD1 distributor will fit the B16A1 head?
You need a [TD-44] Distributor . You can get one from Rywire, which is where I got mine and it works flawlessly, or you can get one for a Del Sol VTEC which has the b16a3 in it. Or 92-95 GSR or ITR.
Defiantly convert to obd-1 way more tuning options more user friendly(for tuners)You can buy the ecu jumper harness for 80 bucks then make dizzy jumper or you could use the obd-1 harness side plug on the obd-0 harness. I know it works I have done 3 cars like this all have ran great with no issues
