Default Front end noise

My brother has a 97 civic dx with 212k miles on it and he has been hearing a weird noise in the front on the passanger side. He says its sort of a flapping noise he says it only in 4th and 5th gear when he steps on the gas he said it sounds like clunking and grinding. I havent heard the noise but he said it does it sometimes in second and when taking right hand turns and going uphill. I thought it might be a cv joint or something but im not sure and dont have enough knowledge yet to diagnose what it could be so I figured you guys would know. I know its not the heat sheild because it fell off the other day while driving. I got undernearth it and looked today but couldnt see much of anything wrong but I figure you guys would be able to help me out.

Could be passenger side wheel bearing.

thats what I thought it could be to but when a wheel bearing is bad do you feel it in the steering wheel? I dont know because I said it is maybe that and he said but he doesnt feel it in the steering wheel and I didnt think you had to feel it for it to be bad but I didnt know that for sure.
