i'm looking into getting a short Ram intake , i'm currently running a AEM CAI , but i need more midrange power....the midrange is weak right now with the AEM+ JDM dc 4-1 .....

if anybody runs DAC , or Injen Short ram , please tell me your thoughts, i'm going to fabricate a enclosed air box to keep the hot air away either way...but i need to know what i should expect from either of these short rams ....any help , or opinions are appreciated ...thanx

If you are going to switch, I would suggest the icebox. It works great on Georges car, he has a JDM 4-1, and SMS exh. I used the stock box and made my own, just added a filter.

I have a "cold air" Injen short ram. Don't know how it is compared to AEM CAI.

You will get the best midrange from the AEM or INJEN long tube CAIs.
Short rams are for high rpm power

but to offer my opinion, right now im using a DAC on loan, and its making
over 230whp, so apparently it doesnt do too bad

 

im also running a DAC intake, and love it. I had one on my accord before i sold it, i liked it soo much i bought one for my R. i cant say what is like compared to AEM CAI cuz i never got one. yea its pretty loud towards high RPM, but thats usually the case in all intakes with open filters.

My buddy has a the comptech ice box on his 2000 R and its deep and not as loud.

 

I have the DC DAC Short Ram Air Intake on my 99GSR and I like it a lot, but I've got to fabricate some kind of heatshield as well, we'll see...
