Default my 16 swap issuse

I am currently in the processs of swapping a b16 obd0 into my 1991 civic hatch and I have come across a couple of issuse

First is i was under the assumption t hat I could use any integra throttle cable so I ahve a 93 integra throttle cable. but I am seeing on http://crxcommunity.com/viewtopic.php?t=173 that he used a 90-91 throttle cable. With my throttle cable still work or do I need to get a different one

The second is one of the studs that holds the valve cover on in broken 1/2 off (my brother over tightned it). IS the domestic 99 civic SIR the same motor that I can order this stud from or is there a better domestic car that I can use to order this part from? The honda dealer guys here don't know anything about JDM, they are all domestic.

The third one (I know that this is not really a swap question) but will a set of side skirts designed for a 90 crx fit my civic without any modifications? Guy here is selling a respecatble looking pair for very cheap.

Thanks for the help

throttle cable should work, may need to do some creative routing in the engine bay. My b16 came from a 91 JDM Integra, it was long but it works
valve cover stud- not sure but I think an NSX stud will be your best bet
What do you mean by side skirts? I don't think any exterior parts are intrechangeable between the hatch and CRX.
It's been a long time since I was here, and if I am wrong on any of this, please don't blast me too hard---- Hope this helps

There is no such thing as a USDM SIR so no wonder the "domestic Honda guys" didn't know ****. Also most of the dealerships around me are full of **** and have no clue about motors what-so-ever; even the technicians it is sad...

Ya I might of been wrong about the "USDM SIR" I just assumed since that is the only one they were able to pull up on their comps with aduel overhead cam. Lol ya the one older tech guy knows stuff but his response is, "we never got that generation of motor," then just walks away leaving me with the younger guy who is dumb. Oh well i ordered the stud from the dealer for the 99 SIR so I hope that it is the right one. If not I hope someone has a suggestion for me to get one.

Im talking the guy wants $25 for them. Soo I don't really care if they look like crap I am more just concerned if its worth it for me to make the 2 hour drive to pick them up.

the skirts will be to short, the crx wheel base is shorter than the hatch.and as for the stud order it for a 94 del-sol vtec. (the del-sol had a b16)

Thanks for all the info. To conclude the answer are that the 93 throttle cable will work, the stud from a 94 del-sol vtec is the same part numebr as the 99SIR (according to the dealer) so the one I am ordering should work, and those side skirts will not fit so I am not going to waste my time going to get them
If I run into issues with the stud or the throttle cable I will elt you guys know.

alright well I am having a different issue or sorts now. Now that I ahve installed the motor I went to install the drive shafts and they fit into the tranny perfect, and ont he passengers side they fit into the humbs perfect. The drivers side does not have a nice fit (looking from disc side look like the threading on the driveshaft does not stick out far enough to thread the axle nut on) I was told that I needed to tighten the axe nuts as tight as I can and by doing this I am actually able to tighten the passengers side so tight that I can not turn the wheels by hand while they are off the ground (car in neutral). Am I doing this wrong? or did I miss a step in assembling the drive shafts?

The drive shafts came with the b16 swap which I was told came out of a JDM rex. I have a 91 civic HB

you have to remove the dust covers from inside the hubs so the axles will fit, there just metal rings that you should be able to pop out by hand or with a screwdriver. theres a pic of them in this guide i think.

Well I got everything hooked up and my car is idling fine but it appears that it is rev limiting around 5k (don't have the dash hooked up atm), and the pw0 ecu is just a steady blinking light when i have the key at the on position. The other thing it is doing is it is backfiring when I try to drive it (does not do this at idle). Could my timing be off or is it some thing else. The other thing i ran into was that one of the vetc plugs had two wires on it and neither of them were black so i do not know which ones to wire. They were dark green and yellow (I think). Which one should I ground?

just wire the pressure switch into the vtec signal wire, that will make vtec work without the pressure switch wired up. i did it right at the ecu on my pr3, and as for the rev limit i would check the timing, if its off it can cause you to throw code 4 or 9, and both of them are in the dizzy and will give you a rev limit around 3-4k. the first thing you should do is read the codes on the ecu and that will tell you whare to start.
