Need dynamic guage readings. That's where I'd start.

the low side pressure line holds around 40 psi when the compressor is on.

this should be accurate right ?

my problem is that, i am still blowing the outside air ( not cold at all and Florida is Effin hot !)

things i checked :

--the heater valve. fine shuts and opens properly, so that's not a problem.

--the blower motor. "A o.k."

-- compressor and condenser fan kicks in

-- and no wiring/ fuse problems

--i opened the evaporator core box. cleaned it up ( leaves and sticks inside ) and when the a/c is on, the core gets cold to the touch ( as if you put your hand in the fridge)

i don't know how cold it suppose to get, but i did notice that there isn't a lot of condensation on the outside, just a few drops here and there.

could this be whats going bad ?

-- i have not checked the expansion valve, how can i check that?
Adam

How did you check the Hot Water Control valve?

Oh yes, year and model please. (there are differences)

oh yes. i am sorry.

its a 1992 honda accord ex.

Mr. P Adams,

i had checked the heater valve in two ways;
- using the **** and making sure the cable pulls the valve shut,
-and also did it manually with my hand ( pulled the cable off and moved it open/close valve on the coolant hose ( the coolant was already hot )

i also sprayed water on the condenser and evaporator core to see if the a/c would cool a little bit, but it didn't work.

the site glass for R134a doesnt do much.. when your system is running touch all the lines the discharge line should be hot then the line coming out of the TXV should be cold as well as the suction line if they are not that way then i would look at the TXV if their is any sweat or frost anyware also note ware it is

yea, the suction line isn't cold at all, not even right next to the compressor when engaged. its actually kinda warm to the touch.

I would first check that the temperature blend door in the heater case operates correctly. It is possible that despite a properly working water valve and an operating refrigerant system, the blend door is in a position to cut off air flow from thru the evaporator.

The '94 theu '97 were simplified. They combined the cable connections at the heater box into one (the operating lever for the Temperature blend door). I believe the set up on the 4th gen's are a little more convoluted.

You may need a manual for reference

Suction line not cold... Is the high side line hotter than the suction line? Or are they the same temp? How did you charge the system?

Did you check the a/c blend door?

as he said the suction line is warm.. their for it has nothing to do with any of the mode doors
as i said is there any frost or condensation anyware? my first guess is gonna be the TXV unit

Could be a stuck open expansion valve.

Ok new problem.

I had revacuum the ac for 30 minutes , no leaks and held pressure . Added 1.5 pounds of r134a freon. Turned on the a/c and bam it was getting cold.
everything was going well.

Then the ac clutch started to disengage and back on again every 4 or 5 seconds cuasing my motor to have irratic idle from 1200 rpms close to turning off at 200 rpm ( normal idle is 700 rpm)
It was doing this at traffic stops, if I was on the freeway, the a/c blows !

Atleast I know my pressure switch is working , but why is it doing it ?

I was told that the a/c will turn off if the engine bay temps are too hot.

Both fans are running , but I do think my rad fan is going out

An inoperative fan can cause pressures to become excessive. This can cause the system to either cycle often or purge at the blow off valve on the compressor.
