Camshaft Cap Has Small Crack!!!
Hey HT, I wanted to get some enlightment on what I should do with this. I am currently in the process of rebuilding a B18B. Well as I was working on the head, I noticed that the last camshaft cap (E6) had a small crack on the top of it. I wanted to know if its ok to run like this, can I fix it, do I need to buy another one, or is the head pretty much useless now and need to buy another head. Please let me know so I can continue my build. Thanks for helping out a noob. I posted up pics to let you guys know exactly what I am talking about.

you can buy another cam cap, but i wouldn't rely on it without a line bore.
however for the price of a line bore, you could buy 7 more b18b heads and 4 b20 heads.
My advice is to just buy a new head and save yourself the issues.

when it comes to your head and valvetrain i wouldnt run anything that can be questioned or skeptical. usually doing that will bite you down the road.
