AEM intake whistle??
does anyone else with an AEM CAI hear a whistle when you push gently on the gas?? I had an AEM CAI on my LS before and it did the same thing, but its twice as load on the R now, and i dunno what it is. i'm assuming its just whistling when it gets a certain amount of airflow and its just an annoying thing i have to deal with, but i thought i'd check to see if anyone had the same problem and fixed it
they are all broken.........it just so happens i will take your broken AEM's at a reasonable (read: very cheap, like a dollar) price, and help you get rid of those annoying sounds. IM me for address.
If you use one of these : http://www.tornadofuelsaver.com/info/ you will have less sound
There is nothing WRONG with it. (i'm not going to explain why it happens if you can't figure it out.) I personally like the whistle. Turn up the radio and open the windows if you don't like it.
I'm with tran. I'll take all your broken cai's for VERY cheap.

That’s air flow...What makes you think that this is a "problem"?
Think of it like this:
What makes a whistle sound? Air traveling at the proper velocity, right? In the same case, when you hit a certain "air flow velocity" you will get a whistle from the air filter that your using (K&N - which Injen and AEM uses are more noticeable). When you throttle hard on your car, the sound will disappear because (unlike a whistle that restricts velocity) your engine is pulling more air. I hope this makes sense and isn't too cheesy of an analogy.
Your CAI is fine, and working properly if you hear a whistle.
Trust me...

My ITR whistles no matter what intake I put on it. Even with the stock air box, it whistles just not as notice-able.
I sure would like a cheap AEM CAI.

personally i think it sounds like a small turbo spooling up, now all i need is to make a recording of a blow off valve and put a speaker under my hood, so when i shift it'll make the sound....that way i can be ricer #1 around my neighborhood

[edit] interestingly enough - i've never heard my roommates AEM-equipped Si make the whistle. the AEM engineers must have made it a special "gift" for us Integra owners.
[/edit]-Ben, who is going to leave work now and go listen to his AEM whistle.

The wistle is turbulence when air flows over the butterfly plate. happens no matter what intake you have on there... some just allow you to hear it more.

my blitz SuS filter whistles away from 2000-4000rpm in all gears, i love the sound as i've never heard any other make of car with a short ram intake/CAI whistle. I would be very angry if someone fixed mine so that it didnt whistle
