so i paid for 1000RR forks and got 600RR forks...?
Yeah its another ebay story which goes like this.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWNX%3AIT
So everywhere i look on the page, it says 1000RR. upon getting the forks, i find masking tape on them that say 600RR. Im using them for a conversion, I don't have all the parts yet so i don't know if everything is going to fit. how much different are the 600RR compared to the 1000RR for 06-07? i was mostly concerned that the brakes from a 1KRR would not fit the 600 but I'm getting the feeling that there is more to it than that.

The forks pictured in that auction are 06/07 1000rr forks. Not 600rr. If you received forks that are not pictured in that auction, get your money back
AWESOME!
The forks in the picture are the ones i got. they must have just labeled them wrong in the masking tape. thanks for the help.

FYI, the 1000RR and 600RR forks are very similar. IIRC the 1000RR forks have a little stiffer spring rate and are a little beefier, but are very similar to the 600RR forks. Yea, what bike are you swapping these onto?

think it would be worth rebuilding the forks? how can i calculate the spring rate?
yep, i still have it. ive been gone so much in the past couple years that i hardly have the time to ride it. its only got 10K miles on it. I was looking at getting a new bike but I thought, what the hell, I like the bike why don't I just hang onto it for the next __ years and have some fun with it.
I still haven't decided on headlights. I really don't like the 919 headlight so that's going in the trash; i mean ebay. anyone have any ideas? post some pics if you got some ideas. remember naked bike.
I'm off on a business trip and wont be home til December. When the bike is done, I'll be sure to post all the pictures. The 1000RR forks are only the beginning of whats being done to the bike!

I don't really care for the extreme street fighter lights with all the crazy stuff. I was considering the dual 4" for a long time but I'm trying to keep the power usage down as i need it for some "other" items. I was considering HID's to cut down power usage but thats just more $$$ and more electronics that i need to find a place for.
I do kinda like the v-rod light.
