I've been working on this car for the last 1 1/2 years with a good friend. He wanted to do it right the first time and didn't want any debt associated with the car, so it took a little while but it is almost done. The car was built in a storage rental unit over the winter. NRG Tech did the fab work for the used intercooler setup (from Buck). We got it running in June and Jason Hunt happened to be coming to town for a business trip and he tuned it at CLM Racing one night. It made good power on the dyno but the dyno was overheating and not reading past like 8,000 RPM. Jason had alot of fun with the 1600s and the old school Bank to Bank SpeedPro. The car was built with alot of parts from the Grey Integra that James at IPG parted out. It has a cage, but it is garbage (it will be going to NRG Tech in the fall to be redone).
The car has been to the track 3 times.
1st trip: 1st pass 11.30 @ 133, 2nd pass 10.50 @ 140, 3rd pass - Blew the BOV off of the charge pipe
I sent the charge pipe off to Miller at NRG Tech and he had it back to me by the next weekend - great customer service!
2nd trip: 1st pass - broke what was supposedly a Quaife diff and took out the passenger inner
DSS fixed the axle and got it back to us Saturday morning, went to install it and realized the diff was broken. Called miller and asked him what he had laying around..owner of car went out to LI, grabbed the spool and we were up til midnight swapping the diff. Had to use a lawnmover piston ring for a shim to get it to work...thanks again Chris
3rd trip: 1st pass 10.34 @ 143, 2nd pass 10.08 @ 146, 3rd pass 10.00 @ 149.
Anyone that has been to island knows what a fine facility it is. I'm pretty sure that without changing anything on the car, this car would run a 9.80 or better at englishtown Wednesday night. The owner had never driven anything faster than his 12 second nitrous CRX he previously owned. The car will be running at all local SFWD races in 2010 and I think it will be a contender...
Thanks to:
Jason Hunt - for answering wiring & setup questions and tuning the car
Miller and Tom at NRGTech - for the fab work and helping us out with repairs and parts the past 2 weeks
Cunha @ CLM Racing - Off hours dyno useage yet again
James @ IPG - killer deals on parts
Geoff @ Full-Race - great products and pricing
Rob & Richie @ JDM Cars - more killer deals on parts
Tony @ T1 Race Development - answering some questions and some deals on parts
Stan @ Fast-turbo.com - best prices on plumbing needs
Joe @ Tempest Racing - for the hookup on the NLR and push-lock fittings
A little video I put together (1st time creating one...don't laugh)

nice setup. that looks almost identical to the car I'm working on now. except mine has no motor or front end body work currently.
congrats guys, its great to see it all together and going down the track.
The SFWD events are going to be sick next year, tons and tons of cars being built.

Car has a cage in it, it's just not certify worthy. I wouldn't send the driver down the track if I didn't think he was safe. He had 3 layer suit, neck collar and whatnot.
clean car....great power....i have the same problem with my cage, hopefully nrg-tech can help me out in that department.....
