so i got an exedy clutch installed and my original flywheel resurfaced, broke in the clutch for 500 miles in stop and go traffic in the city. now when i take it above 75oo rpm in third and shift to fourth i am gettinga grind before it goes into gear. do you guys have any ideas? please help me i need to be a little informed before i go back to the dealership that did the work. thanks

Maybe it is not ur clutch, but ur tranny..., Bad syncros maybe.

 

I would check the synchros for sure...it's probably them

Synchro gremlins.......

 

i thought the syncros would effect the shift no matter what the rpm would be, but if not please let me know because this is only happpening above 6000 rpm. and only it that one gear. if it is the syncros how much is the standard to get the damn thing fixed? considering i just put 2300 into it i expected the shop that did the work to check into things like this(dealership did the work) what do you guys think is the best route to go in getting them to figure it out?

 

i rip it up every morning to work. i have a stretch of highway that is two miles long, from where i get on to where i get off and i can see as clear as day, no trees in the middle or anythin, so yes i do rip it up from 3rd to 4th every day i get a chance to, hell i even get it into fifth at the same rpm and have no problem, i don't have to hold the stick in gear so i am thinking the clutch is funked or glazed or somethin but you guys say its the syncros. i have sometimes walked into work with a huge adrenaline rush from hitting 140+ sometimes, so how much willit cost to fix this?

If it is the synchros, it IS easier to replace whole transmission. THe labor cost for just synchros is CRAZY.

 

where does one source out a transmission box to replace the original one at a good price then. i know tranny boxes usually go for quite a bundle and i'm not really interested in spending more loot on the rice rocket. anyone wanna buy a well kept gsr?!!! no reallly what r the options, type r has the lsd in it already gsr tranny box is the same as an ls so what would you guys do?

 

could it be that the clutch hasn't fully broken in uyet, i fidn it hard to believe that its the synchros gear. it doesn't do it all the time and it will shitft fine if i hold the clutch in an extra second, what do you guys think please help me out
