Default High Compression

I am in the market for some high compression pistons for my b20 vtec build. I am wanting to buy the itr rs machine pistons(84.50mm) One the compression calculator. It says that if i use usdm itr pistons with a b16 head, i am going to be at around 12:5:1(http://www.zealautowerks.com/bseries.html). I have been hearing mixed things about going that high on compression. I am just trying to find a correct answer. The car will never see race gas and it is going to be ran on 93 pump gas at all times and this motor is going to be going into my dd.. I know that compression does not mean everything when it comes to going all motor.. but i am trying to keep the compression high so i could make some good power with supporting mods. If 12:5:1 compression is too high and rs machine pistons are very good for the price.. what should i do then.. The motor is going to be pretty simple.. and all i am looking for is about 215whp or 220 whp.. but i will be happy with 200 or more.. thanks again..

have your head cc'd and see whay you'll really be looking at for compression.

I agree, online compression calculators are a poor guess at best.

ok cool.. so how off are they.. i am just wanting to buy these pistons and i don't want the compression to be too high.. i am wanting the compression to be at about 12:1:1... At the highest cause this is going to be a dd motor.. am i going to be alright.. with these pistons with a b16 head.. ?

typically, the numbers end up being lower than advertised, how much depends on a number of variables.

oh ok.. i just don't want the compression to be over what pump 93 gas can handle.. that is all.. if i was not driving it everyday.. i would not care about how high the compression was, but i do this time for this motor.. but i think that i am going to get the pistons and i should be ok.. with this motor..

I am thinking about the pro 1's.. i guess they should get me in the power range with 220whp... i am just thinking about it.. but i am glad that i have figured out the compression..
