99 si keeps chewing alternator belts
I had 2 alternator belts break on my 99 si. I figured something was wrong so I threw a spare alternator I had on it to see of that's the problem. Well last night it broke another alternator belt. Any ideas on what's causing it? Maybe my crank pulley is messed up?
look at your crank pulley while running. if it wobbles... you have a loose crank bolt/warped pulley / warped crank
if thats not it. make sure the alternator is aligned properly with the crank pulley. in other words make sure the belt is STRAIGHT.
if its none of that.... your probobly just not tightening the belt correctly...
