Default Compression Test

Well My setup was told to me as I bought the car as having 12:1 compression and stock GSR rods. GSR block and B16 head. Head is Stock. We did a compression test and we got 240 all across the board. My friend was telling me to ask you guys if 240 across the board meant that it has those 12:1 pistons or is this motors block completely stock? I need help with this question ASAP because I am going to boost by the end of the week thanks

i had 11.8~12.0 CR on my itr, and i was getting almost 260 psi across the board..

You have a healthy motor.. CR will vary.. depending on the setup and what not..tho.
The pistons that were used could say 12.1 CR in a ls/vtec because of a ls crank
if you put those into a GSR witha gsr crank obviously and gsr rods, you will drop your CR to around 11.6~11.8 depending on the support mods as well.

Your numbers are fine.

This is a all motor forum.

Against better judgement, i wouldn't turbo a motor with that high of compression..

As with all things you buy used, you always have to inspect for yourself because typically the previous owner didnt really know wtf they had. 240psi would generally mean 11.0:1 compression range, however, it very well could have 12:1 and have semi-worn rings or big cams (which the overlap will take off some compression). Thus, you cant be sure using a compression check like you are. Look down in the spark plug hole and see what type of dome you have on the pistons....typicall that will give you some idea (or atleast it does with me since I've seen a good many pistons in my time).

when we checked the dome looked as if it was triangular shaped. The Spark plugs were white which means its running lean right? I know this is All Motor I am asking you guys becuse right now I am All Motor and wanted to know if my compression sounds igh like I was told.
