ok got the b16 swap running alot better from my last post. now it has developed a loud tick in the motor intermittently at idle. does away above idle. idle is surging and when this tick happens i can see a drastic drop in intake manifold vacuum. i have tried an extension on the intake and exhaust manifolds and am not able to hear the tick transmitt through the extension. engine ran fine before swapping with no tick. timing was off 1 tooth but engien was nto ran for an extended time or even driven until i figured out all the issues from swapping engine. no cel is coming on. if anyone has any ideas i would really appreciate it. i hope i dont have to take the head off and inspect valves. oh yeah i believe the car has 93 octane gas in it?!

 

start by checking valve lash.

and fix your surging idle lol...
