Honda Accord 1997 Automatic not starting
Hi, My car is turning over but will not kick in and start up. It sounds like an imobiliser kinda fault because its like the electrics have been stopped. My car is a Honda Accord 1997 P reg automatic. Does anyone have any ideas on this?
Thanks.
Thanks.
yes , i believe its a factory fitted. The green key on the dash flashes on and off when i turn the key. The car has had no problems for 3 years
This problem started when my daughter moved my car forward 3 feet. She only drove it once before. She started the engine, then selected first gear, which i never ever do, i always use 'Drive'. She moved the car forward and switched off the engine. Next time i went to use it, the car won't start. The engine turns and petrol smells, but not one attempt to fire.

But you can try this; pump the gas pedal while cranking it..if that doesnt work, take a long pipe or ratchet and hit the starter a few times (hard like it deserves it). Try starting the car. If not, replace the spark plugs and last option is jump it.
Let us know what happens, and if you hear a whining noise when you turn the key to position 1 (the one that lets you run the radio without starting the car)
