iPod retrofit in 09 Pilot
Hi
I have 09 Pilot EX which comes without ipod interface. Is there a way to retrofit an iPod interface from a Touring or EX/L Pilot so I can control the ipod through the original sound system
Thanks

Hi,
I wondered the same thing. We just bought a 2009 EXL last month and when we were talking to the (newbie) sales guy, he said it plays ipods. But later when I asked him specifically about controlling the ipod through the factory head unit, he said, 'no' (but we could plug into the 3.5mm jack and play it - whoopee!!)
And because the DVD/Nav system that comes w/ the Touring model isn't available in the lower models; I think we're SOL...
I thought that was pretty weak of Honda.

i would find an audio place around your area and tell them that you want your ipod to hook up to your oem stereo. does it have an aux selection. if so than your piolet should have some kind of jack/plug in the back of it to hook up a wire. a good reputable shop will tell you if its possible or not. also dont go off what one guy tells you if he trying to sell you an entirely new head unit/navi. also the guy around the corneer from me works at a stereo place and is really into hondas. if i see him i will ask him to look into it.
Hey tougetuned_ef,
Thanks for the input and ideas. It does come w/ an Aux input as well as a built-in XM Radio (w/ 3 mo. free subscription). I suppose we might be able to use either the Aux or XM port (if we don't continue the subscription). Will look into that. If you happen to see you round the corner neighbor, would greatly appreciate if you wouldn't running it by him.
Thanks again!
