Default Plastic bag melted to my header!!!

2 days ago i let my brother inlaw drive my car, as he's driving my car he stops right ontop of a plastic bag, soon after we get to his house i smell plastic burning, and when i looked down my car the damn bag was melted to my headers, so now everytime i drive my car it smells like burning plastic.

now on to the tech.. i wanna take of the header out and clean it,, its a blox 4-2-2-1 and i jusat wanna know if there is anything that i should be aware of when removing it, or putting it back. ex: "what the bolts need to be torqued at" if anyone has removed their headers tell me the whole prosses " 1st time doing it"

thanks guys.

edit::

dick...;-) true though......

op pick up a helms manual or even a haynes manual for something as simple as pulling the header off.....

this is going to be easier to do on a lift than on jackstands, but it is doable....

I'm not sure how stopping on a plastic bag or not has anything to do with non-Honda owners.

Moar splash guard/panel underneath IMO. Which i'm pretty sure came on your car at some point in time.

because they dont know how low the headers are to the ground, or when there is a steep drive way to exit it out on a angel instead of straight on.. things like that

you really think that only hondas have a header low to the ground? smh

and your asking about taking a header off? and why would you put a cheap *** part on a itr?

Either way, your car is most likely NOT stock height, that still has nothing to with non-Honda owners. Other makes and models of which are lowered will have issues many different components.. including the header. Don't make blanket statements about Hondas or non-Honda owners, i've owned many cars. You can blame yourself for these reasons: Lowering your vehicle, not researching the clearance on aftermarket header, and letting a friend drive your car.

Someone made the "original design" and I can guarantee you Blox wasn't it. They are cheap, and its because of crappy quality and a complete lack of R&D. They are exactly the company you describe ripping off the designs of others.

Any F-body car would have the same issue with low aftermarket header clearance, FYI.

Edit: After looking at your link, they sell for $650?!? That's INSANE. Diversion has summed it up the best though.

yes you are right and i only have me to blame for it, but he use to drive a impala so he is super fresh to this whole thing, but it wouldnt of happend if i was driving, either way worst things have happend when i had vibrant headers. lol

dude every other aftermarket place rips people a new hole.. dosnt matter if its blox, or skunk2.

i dk if vibrant is any better, but the header i bought from them was 450,
but im sticking to mine right now, i guess when it comes time for my next tune i will see if i lost power with the blox rather than the vibrant

Torque #'s for your bolts:

OEM Header to Head = 23 lb/ft page 9-3 of Integra service manual.
After market DC Header to Head = 27 lb/ft

Re-use your gasket.
The torque sequence is... inner most bolts first, then work outward (towards the outermost bolts).

I swear there has to be a thread like this with regular frequency in the ITR thread or the world will collapse into itself.
