Hi everyone I have an 02 civic ex and I did and auto to manual swap.
I bought the engine harness ECU and Ignition with a key, after installing everything, the car won't start the immobilizer light comes on and blinks when on the "on"...
is there anyway to disable the immobilizer system, I just want it off, I know its there for a good reason but at this point I just want my car to start.
does anyone know how to disable it or bypass it?
any help would be great.

I know i can take it to the dealer and have them reprogram the key but I don't want to take it there the people at the dealers next to me are all a@#holes and I don't trust them with my car.

 

you need to get the new key reflashed at a honda dealer.

 

you need to go to a local honda dealer and have them reprogram the vin in the ecu and program the immobilizer system.

There is the foot brake(emergency) five digit code to start your car, it is available to Honda dealerships under the immobilizer code inquiry through hondacom 2000, or whatever system your Honda distributor uses. Still to do that they would require the serial number of the car the ecm was out of. Sample code 41535, press brake pedal four times, turn off ignition, press pedal once, turn off ignition, press pedal five times, turn off ignition, press pedal three times, turn off ignition, press pedal five times, car should be able to start. It has been six plus years since my Honda dealership days so may not be accurate procedure steps. this is not the type of information dealership staff would be willing to hand out to just anybody. IE if a customer wanted a key cut from serial number, if we did not know the customer, I would not do that without ID and proof of vehicle ownership in the same name.

 

yeah I got that part worked out but now the green key is flashing..
i just don't get it because I got the the key and the ignition for that ECU they all came out off the same car..

Honda immobilizers are generational, 2001 series Civic was Type 3. You can make an inquiry with the parts/service department of a dealer, whether they would be helpful/willing to disclose the code is another matter. Your car would have to have been distributed by American Honda for them to have this information. We could not look up US market information, and they could not look up Canadian market vehicle information. This emergency foot brake procedure would have to be repeated each time you wanted to start the vehicle.

 

That would be pretty cool to have the vehical start up as a trick. no one could take your car then. So there is really no easy way to find the code? Just have to punch it in on a dealers computer?

 

that code sounds really use full and I like the part no one will be able to start the car without it... I am going by my dealership this weekend and will see if they give it to me..

 

The brake code changes every day. You will need to call Honda every day to get the brake code. Ground the fuel pump relays E-1 and E-7 at the PCM. This might work, if it does, run these wires together on a switch to ground.

 

Ill have to try that.

 

I did the same thing but what i did to further complete was i changed the harness behind the dash from auto to manual
