Default car just shuts off.

i installed my new head and the battery was dead before i installed but i just bought it. i had to jump my car to turn it on. It turned everything was fine then i was going to back it up then it just turned off! i looked then i saw that i forgot to ground the censor wires to i did then i tried again but i had jump it again i left it hooked up longer. It last longer this time but everytime i puch he brakes the whole car flickered then engine would turn off very wuick then come back on as well as the lights. so is my battery dead dead??? or it something else.

What year/engine?

Do you have a new battery installed?

Is the alternator belt tight?

Have you checked the battery ground wire and the important ground wire on the thermostat housing?

Any CEL codes?
